PDP - People’s Democratic Party

Contribute

If you believe that the PDP can offer you a better tomorrow and our nation a secure future, please help us serve you and our beloved nation.

We cannot do without your help!

Any voluntary contribution you make, from Nu. 1.00 to Nu. 1,00,000.00, helps us become financial sustainable and will allow us to focus our undivided attention on the more important tasks at hand.

Thank you, in advance, for your valuable contribution!

Here are some FAQ’s on contributions…

What are the PDP’s sources of funds?

By law, the People’s Democratic Party can only raise funds from 3 sources:

  1. membership registration fees of Nu.1.00 (one time payment);
  2. annual membership fees of Nu. 4.00 (due in January each year); and
  3. annual voluntary contributions up to a ceiling of Nu. 1,00,000.00

What will my contributions be used for?

The PDP, like any organization, needs to pay for staff, rent and operational costs. As an organization that is required by law to have a national presence (an office with staff in each Dzongkhag), and as a new organization with start-up costs, you can imagine our high budgetary requirements. To compound our already burdened fund situation, we are facing elections to constitute the historic first parliament under the new system.

Can anyone make voluntary contributions?

To make a voluntary contribution one must be:

  1. a citizen of Bhutan;
  2. registered to vote (for which you have to be 18 years or older); and
  3. a registered member of the PDP

(Businesses cannot make contributions to political parties.)

How do I make a voluntary contribution?

By contacting any PDP office where you will be requested to register as a member of our Party – if you haven’t already – and then submitting your contribution.

You may kindly note that contributions above Nu. 5,000.00 can only be made through check from your own/spouse’s personal saving’s account.
