MSc in telecommunications from Coventry University, UK and BSc in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Kansas, USA on a prestigious Fulbright Fellowship. He has topped all Board examinations from Class V through XII. Starting his career as a telecom engineer, he has worked as Area Manager for Southern telecom districts and as the head of billing and international affairs (business division). He set up the first private VSAT/Broadband wireless Internet company in Bhutan and became its first CEO. He was also recruited as General Manager for Bhutan Post and became consultant to ADB, World Bank, UNCTAD, Tashi InfoComm, Ministry of Finance and the Department of Tourism. Having worked in government, corporate and the private sector, he has gained valuable insight into both public and private sector governance.
