Organization
We believe that good democracy is built with people’s participation and democratic structure and culture of political parties themselves as organizations. The Charter of the People’s Democratic Party governs its management. The Charter is available at the Party’s website at www.pdp.bt.
The structure of the Party is democratic. The Party Convention, where all PDP members are entitled to attend, is the general assembly and will meet once in a year. The Executive Committee, elected by the Party Convention with representatives from across the Kingdom, is responsible for implementing the Party policies and programs.
District coordinators look after the administrative functions in their respective districts. Constituency Committees with elected representatives from all gewogs and thromdes make the important decisions at the grassroot level. Every village in Bhutan is represented in the party through their elected representatives in the constituency committee. Secretary serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Party.
